Wim Den Haese : I have been practising as a fully qualified Physiotherapist since 1992 with a special interest in musculo-skeletal, orthopaedic, sport specific injuries and young athletes. Soon after graduating in Belgium I left for the USA where I worked for 7 years as a senior physiotherapist in a sport medicine and orthopaedic rehabilitation centre. My wife brought me to NI where I worked in the NHS as the Clinical specialist in Antrim Hospital and in Musgrave Park Hospital where I developed and ran the Spinal Triage Clinic in close cooperation with the spinal surgeons. I have actively assisted in the development of injection services for local GP's and can administer joint and soft tissue injections myself. I was part of the orthopaedic team who won the Northern Ireland Health Awards.
I have diplomas in Manual Therapy, advanced orthopaedic assessment and injection therapy for musculo-skeletal condit ions. More recently I have embraced some complementary therapies such as acupuncture, the Bowen Technique and bioresonance which have expanded my scope of practice again. I currently work closely with the local sports clubs (rugby and football) and the local High school and secondary school students.
I have recently attended instruction classes in Pilates which we have found very useful for our lower back, neck and postural strain patients.
